Yes, I'm sure that a parent that models that behavior is setting up their child. I'm thinking a parenting class might help that parent identify their own behavior before it leads to their child following in their footsteps.
I know that it's not just mimicking parental behavior, because I have two kiddos, one of which is incredibly resilient and self-sufficient, the other is mired in victimhood.
I don't think my daughter was blaming or shaming anyone early on, but she is definitely doing that now. Hmmm, I think I need to think on this a bit more.
