Who the f*ck says that? I simply cannot imagine someone saying something so stupid. I'm sorry that you're going through this aspect of lupus. It's hard enough to deal with, but to have your image shattered is so difficult. Many of us like to keep up a strong appearance and prefer people not to view us a 'sick'. Balding kinda takes that option away.
