This piece is wonderful! I love how you brought me along in your frustration and then flipped to your epiphany!

I have had friends who are shocked by my equanimity following horrible loss, but for my two loved ones, death was swift and painless. My thoughts are with families who watch their children suffer endlessly through devastating illness only to die after torturous medical treatment, or those families who watch their loved ones raped and murdered in war torn countries. Counting my blessings with enormous gratitude for the gifts that they were.
