There is a lot of sensationalism in this article, but I think the intent is good. There are a LOT of people who think of keto as going through the drive-thru, ordering a triple bacon cheeseburger, add extra cheese, an extra large Diet Coke, and an extra side of bacon. They’ll buy every cookie and cake marked ‘keto’ in the grocery store and think they’re doing great.
For me, keto is a combination of grass fed beef, organic chicken, salmon, occasional uncured bacon, organic cheese, occasional organic yogurt, homemade veggie soup, salads most days … just good clean eating. I do throw in a couple of ‘keto’ junk things like wraps or bread, to scratch the itch, and love Lily’s semi-sweet chocolate chips after dinner.
Basic, 85-90% clean. Been doing this for about 3-4 years. Life is good.
