The waves are smaller, and from one of my favorite piers, the Chicago skyline was just barely visible, but otherwise, very much like an ocean. There's a little beach I visit that most people think is private, but it's not. I bring back a few rocks every time I visit. They sit in my garden in groups of 3-5. :)
