Sounds like her children never set boundaries, nor taught her that her behavior had consequences. I'd be mad at them for allowing it for all the years prior to her old age.

Once I was an adult, if either of my parents had been horrific, I'd have reduced my interaction to either nothing, or nearest to nothing imaginable.
