Sadly, dairy and gluten aren't just adding weight, they're adding inflammation. After your surgery, try adding back in organic, pastured dairy rather than conventional, and go super slow. Choose just a couple of things you love and make them super high quality. Forget gluten until you know that dairy is okay.
I was glad to hear that you reduced fish since eating too much of some kinds can lead to mercury overload. Salmon is a great choice, without the fear of mercury.
