Remembering I Want To Do Something Hasn’t Been Easy

How many habits have you wanted to start, then just as quickly forgot about?

I wanted to do the Sandburg Stretches every morning, but morning came, I let the dogs out, started coffee, fed the dogs, put away the dishes … oops! I totally forgot that I was going to do some stretches as the coffee brewed. Dang!

I decided to have a shake to break my fast each day. Instead, I made a couple of scrambled eggs. Dang!

How about when I was going to stop every day on my way home from work and get some writing done at the coffee shop nearby? Yep, you’re on track … I went to the market for a couple of items I needed. They needed refrigeration. No bueno.

I tried putting it on my calendar, having Alexa remind me, having Siri remind me … ARGHHHH! I could look at that, look away, get distracted and, you guessed it, totally forget.

It was always something! Eventually I’d get started, but even if I did something a few times, the habit never solidified because I’d get distracted and forget.

But, things have changed! I’ve figured it out! How? Make it so danged obvious that forgetting is impossible.
