The Art of M.T. Liggett: A Crusty Old Son of a Bitch.

From political cartoons in 3D to dogs, prostitutes, and his eight ex-wives, M.T. was never boring.

Just west of Mullinville, Kansas, and about a half hour outside of Dodge City, is the studio, and hundreds of metal sculptures created by M.T. Liggett.

The sculptures range from cowboy art, dogs, and a three-breasted woman, to political commentaries— think political cartoons in three dimensions.

Roadside America called his work caustic punk. He calls himself a crusty old son of a bitch. I call him a character. People either loved him or hated him.

When my son and I headed to Dodge City in 2016 to scatter the Cowboy’s (my husband's) ashes we stumbled upon acres and acres of nearly 1,000 metal sculptures. We spent quite a bit of time taking videos and enjoying the artist’s brand of political commentary. We had no idea who he was, or that he was well-known in the art world.
