You start to make assumptions about what they want, what’s best for them, and how to solve their problem. You hear them lament about an issue and, in your mind, you’ve already designed the product that’ll change their lives.

Oh my! You've been sitting next to me, yeah? Add to it my attempts to negate their beloved solution and you've nailed my technique! I have been working hard at NOT negating their solution and I think the first step is in NOT creating MY solution until we've gone further in the conversation.
