My father would be appalled that his sleek, modern rocker was sitting next to a rose quartz, in front of white chintz curtains, and on an ornate Syrian silk carpet. But, he no longer gets a vote.

For Herman Miller/Eames rocker provenance. That’s my sister, who will be thrilled to see this published, giving Dad the evil eye for taking her picture. I can hear her now, “Daaaaaad! Leave. Me. Alone!” LOL Image Credit: Daddio

Another antique in my possession is an anatomically correct-ish bull. This bull came from Polk Bros. in Chicago, probably purchased in the very early 1950s.

The bull sat on my parent’s headboard, then on their dresser, until they died. It now sits on my mantel. The blue vase also came from Polk Bros. I’ve had it since my mom died in 2004. (Yes, I know the dogs are adorable, but you’re supposed to be looking at the antiques!)

As an aside, that mantel has no fireplace. It has a tile hearth, framed into the original wood floors, but no fireplace. Not even a…
