Love this analogy! And, you're right, it can be scary. I made a knee jerk decision in 2007 that cost me a few thousand. It could have been worse, but I was quickly approaching 60 years of age and recognized it for what it was: fear.
I promptly found a trusted financial advisor and haven't looked back. Not only is she knowledgeable about setting me up for the future, she understands and can explain her advice. No more knee jerk financial decisions for me!
