Love Actually
It’s got everything and then some
What would you answer when asked, “What is your favorite romcom?”
Easiest prompt yet!
A relatable, fun, handsome, sexy, Prime Minister? The perfect setup! Throw in a most “un-pc” rock star, a depressed writer falling for a Portuguese maid, a widowed stepfather and his step-son’s first crush, a scumbag cheat, and two porn stand-ins who chat each other up while faking sex and you’ve got so much fun that the annoying bits give you time to get up for more wine and chocolate.
Spoiler Alert: A couple of my favorite scenes
When the Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) returns and Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) rushes through the crowd and jumps up into his arms.
Mr. Bean’s diversion at the ticket counter while Sam gets a kiss from his crush.
Jamie’s (Colin Firth) trip through the streets of Portugal and Aurelia’s comment upon meeting his friends.
Billy Mack’s (Bill Nighy) realization that it wasn’t the glitzy young women that he wanted to spend his time with, it was Joe (Gregor Fisher).
