It's very common for little kiddos, especially boys, to wet the bed until 7 or 8. Science now shows that the bladder and/or urethra isn't well enough formed in some children.

It doesn't sound like you were punished for it, or that you were made fun of by your parents. Yay, parents!

It's sad that children are often treated as if they have control, and that wetting the bed is shameful. It's distressing enough to wake up drenched and cold, but to be guilted for it ... ugh!
