I’m an old, white hippie who cannot imagine how much more anger I would carry if I, or my children, were Black. I am frustrated by people’s refusal to see privilege. In grade school, my daughter’s best friend was a darling Black girl named Monica. When we would go into the dime store the old biddies behind the counter would shoot each other looks, then one would follow Monica throughout the store. I could have robbed them blind.

How does one live in a society like ours without recognizing that we have an explosive problem that needs solving?

Your article is absolutely brilliant, and I am thankful to have found your work!
