I'm a little confused. Why wouldn't one just use any cashback card that isn't tied to a company that's been fined for bilking customers?

I also wonder how many landlords would accept a credit card for rent. I'm a bit older and haven't rented in many years, so I'm curious about that. Would the card work if you used it to Venmo or Paypal money to a landlord?
