I'm 73 and regularly drive long distances. It's 400 miles to my sisters and 800 back to my hometown. Typically, I stop at my sisters, the halfway point, and spend the night. One the way home I'll often spend two days with my sis. I have done hotels and in my hometown, an airbnb. I'm not sure I'd do those in an unfamiliar location.

I hope you don't give up your independence too soon. I truly cannot imagine giving up driving at 75 ... that's crazy!
