Over fifty years later, I’m thankful for parents who, by instruction and example, instilled that kind of honesty in a goofy ten-year-old kid. One who would ride a bike a mile and a half to return a piece of candy not earned. Though the years have hardened me and made me a lot more cynical, I hope there’s some of that innocent little kid still living in me.
