I wonder if, as the month progresses, people's 'spending accounts' are smaller, so the percentage that goes out is smaller.

One thing I can tell you is that my Drabbles make as much or more than my longer pieces. That showed me that the first 30 seconds is all that counts, not a second longer. And, I think people love reading the short stories because of the shorter time commitment.
