I used to live on Chicago's north shore, home of the extremely wealthy. My kids grew up in garage sale clothes of the highest quality, played with toys we'd never have been able to afford on a single mom's salary, and nothing has changed.

I'm no longer near the Chicago suburbs, but I still love thrifting! I'm not as enamored of garage sales anymore, but love spending a few weekend hours at the thrift shops!
