I First Heard Music Pouring From My Father’s Studio
Dancing on your feet — an unforgettable memory.
The question for today, in Keeley’s list of magical prompts, found here if you’d like to join in, is: What did you first hear music on?
My dad played music for as long as I can remember. It was the air he breathed.
I’m guessing since I was an infant, that the first thing I heard music on was on a blanket in a bassinet. I might have been on my mom’s lap, or on a blanket on the floor. I cannot remember the day I came home from the hospital, but am certain music was playing, thus I would have first heard it on my tenth day.
Can you imagine a ten-day hospital stay after giving birth? Me either!
In the 50s, neighbors were nosy and judged every move new moms made. I’m fairly certain I wasn’t on a naked floor (or naked on a floor) but I’m sure I was on my stomach, following the rules of the day, while hearing music for the first time.
