February Love | Episode 7
I Don’t Celebrate Valentine’s Day
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, “Expectations are a bitch! Don’t let them ruin your day.”

Working in hospitality for many years I wonder why anyone would try to have a romantic dinner out on the same day as the rest of the world.
- In some restaurants, tables are crammed close together to handle record numbers of diners, so you’re often elbow to elbow with the couples on either side.
- Menus are pared down and priced up.
- Cocktails are sugary and bottles of wine pricey.
Tell you what, go two weeks earlier or two weeks later.
- You’ll have plenty of room.
- The menu will be expansive.
- Desserts will taste better without your neighbor reaching over with their fork.
- You’ll have all the time you want.
- And the privacy to whisper sweet nothings into the ear of your loved one.
Order the bottle of wine.
If I do celebrate it’s with a delicious red in my favorite glass, a steak, medium rare, and a fresh salad … at home.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
