I can so relate to being too much. My reaction was the exact opposite: I got louder. The hurt, the rejection, was identical.

Still at age 73, I am brought to tears by the sculpture of the little girl with her hands on her hips in front of wall street.

If only every little girl could assume that stance and live her life that way.
