I am so sorry that it's such a difficult thing for you to do. I remember when my dad died, I kept almost everything I could. Over the years it became easier for me to get rid of, but I also took some photos.

I once saw a program where Peter Walsh was working with a young man who so loved his grandmother. They used to dance to her records when he visited, and he had boxes and boxes of her vinyl. He couldn't part with them, but didn't ever listen to them.

Peter recommended that he choose a few albums and create a beautiful, framed piece to hang on his wall so that he could relive his memories, without the clutter. It was incredibly touching.

Your story made me think of that. Is there a way to create a wall hanging with one or more of the doors, and some of the hardware? That way it would be in your home and a tribute to your mum.
