I am 73. My husband, my buddy, the dude I did everything with, died when I was 53. I had never lived alone before that. After the first couple of years, when the shock wore off, I began to build a different life. Today, I am rarely lonely. I have great friends, two dogs, a son and daughter-in-law, several side hustles, and I adore being alone.
If you see an abyss of loneliness, you will focus on it. If you see infinite possibilities, that's what you'll find.
