Household Chores Suck

Just sayin’.

There are people who enjoy cleaning, finding it relaxing. I am not one of them. There are people who have a regular cleaning schedule. I am not one of them. There are people whose laundry schedule is inviolate. I am not one of them.

Chores suck.

I grew up in the 50s in a lovely home in middle-class suburbia. As a child with ADHD long before anyone knew what that was, I can only imagine my mother’s consternation at my inability to focus on chores. She chose the easier route of doing things herself or having my sister do them.

Patently unfair, I know, but hey, I was just a kid.

There were many days when she sent me to clean my room only to find things tucked under the bed or in the bottom of the closet. My room was the wart on the nose of her beautiful home. (Sorry, mom!) Thankfully, few people gained admittance.

So, when asked to write about my least favorite household chore (thanks for being specific, Keeley) I was at a loss and I went looking to see what others thought about chores. Here is a bit of data:
