Except, we're paying guests. I believe that most rules are simple and it's easy to understand what constitutes hate speech or racist comments, splashing pornography across the site, or violating copyright laws. However, some of Medium's rules are challenging to interpret. I've read them, and I haven't a clue how to interpret some of them. When suspending someone for violating them, tell them how they violated it and give them a chance to respond.

Yes, they might get an email stating that they violated Medium's rules, but they don't get told what rule, or have an opportunity to have a conversation about what it was they did that was in violation.

Medium is a wonderful platform for many things, but sweeping hundreds of writers off the platform, with very little information given to them, was not one of them.

As for writing about them, (as opposed to ranting), I think it's only fair that paying guests be welcome to voice their dissatisfaction. It's our way of writing a review. If I were paying for a lovely hotel, and the towels were dirty, and the heat stuck on high, I'd certainly say something to management. Sadly, it doesn't seem that the owner of this hotel cares about what his guests think about the accommodations.

JMHO (And, kind of a rant. Sorry.)
