Democrats are Playing a Dangerous Game.

I don’t usually step into the political game here on Medium, but this has me worried.

What are you thinking, Jay Pritzker? God forbid you’re challenged by a moderate conservative. Is it more important for you to win or for the State of Illinois to have sensible leadership? You spent $35 million to ensure that Trump-endorsed Darren Bailey won the Republican governor primary. Incidentally, he brought a lot of MAGA candidates with him.

It appears that Democrats would rather have an easier-to-win race than risk losing to a moderate Republican. But what happens if they do lose? Instead of a more centrist opponent, it will be to a MAGA candidate. The people don’t need more of this insanity.

To be perfectly honest, I’d be happy to accept a more centrist Republican than risk the election of another far-right lunatic. As I recall, no one thought 45 would win. That means all bets are off. Weird shit happens!

Democrats need to come together with a boldly outlined platform and sell it to their base. They need to quit buzzing around the edges of liberal thinking and solidify. One can be pro-choice, want healthy children, devise education goals, create smart gun legislation, and stand for human rights without going as far left as the…
