May Day May Day | Episode 10
Aging, ADHD, and Memory — Who’s To Know?
My Memory is … Wait a Sec … What Was I Saying?
Memory has never been my strong suit unless the memory of random childhood events counts. I can write an article, hit publish, and have forgotten the title before it goes live.
Everyone has a door or two in their home or office upon which a mischievous wizard has cast a spell. You know, the kind you walk through, and it wipes your memory completely. Walk back through it, and it’s back. Go through again … gone.
Where you left your keys, whether or not you started the dishwasher or closed the garage door, are all familiar foibles. How long do you wait when you’re trying to remember a word? Do you gaze into space for what seems like a lifetime or break down and look it up?
No trivia team would seek me out as a partner, but rather, I’m the one on the losing team that yells, “YES!! THAT’S IT!!” the minute someone answers. If they’d give me the first three letters of the answer, I would be a star!
