A woman in Kansas City had a friend who went through a divorce, and the woman couldn’t afford deodorant and toilet paper shampoo soap… The basics of personal hygiene. It was the first time that she learned that public assistance didn’t cover personal care. She was appalled.

What she has learned since is how devastating it is for school children to go to school dirty without a toothbrush or shampoo or deodorant. And her mission went beyond providing supplies of dignity to families and became supplying tools of dignity to students.
